SUN PRAIRIE, WI - April 7, 2008 - In partnership with Carbonfund.org, one of the country's leading carbon offset organizations, CTI Paper USA announced today that it is offsetting carbon emissions associated with the manufacturing of the entire brand of ASPIRE Petallics(R) Paper, the most comprehensive brand of pearlescent and metallic papers on the market.

In addition to manufacturing ASPIRE Petallics(R) Paper with 100% Green-e certified wind power, CTI Paper USA is offsetting the remaining carbon emissions through the support of Carbonfund.org's renewable energy projects. As a CarbonFree(R) Business Partner, CTI Paper USA joins a growing number of businesses as an environmental leader.

ASPIRE Petallics(R) Paper now provides a Sustainable Forestry Initiative(R) (SFI) certified Pearl surface as well as select items made from 30% post-consumer waste (PCW) recycled fiber. All items are recyclable. CTI Paper USA is an SFI Chain of Custody certified company. SFI promotes responsible environmental behavior and sound forest management. In addition to ASPIRE Petallics being manufactured with 100% Green-e certified wind power, CTI Paper USA uses 100% Green-e certified wind power to meet the electricity needs in all of its facilities.

"We are committed to being a sustainable business practice leader among manufacturers and distributors of specialty paper," said John Kelly, Vice President of Sales & Marketing of CTI Paper USA. "In 2006, we began purchasing renewable energy credits to offset the electricity used in all of our facilities, and in 2007, our Glama Natural translucent paper achieved Forest Stewardship Council certification. Purchasing carbon offset credits is one of the important initiatives we've undertaken to make ASPIRE Petallics a sustainable paper."

"CTI Paper USA has continually set a high standard for sustainability in the paper industry, including offering the first FSC-certified translucent printing paper in the market. Now CTI Paper USA is taking responsibility for the environmental effects of manufacturing ASPIRE Petallics," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "We're pleased to help CTI Paper USA make more sustainable paper products."
