CINCINNATI, OH - March 31, 2008 - Cadence Network, a leading expense and energy management firm and advocate of all things sustainable, today announced its sponsorship of the Edison Electrical Institute (EEI) National Accounts Spring Workshop, to be held March 30 through April 10 in Buena Vista, Fla. To show its support for EEI and help fight off global warming, Cadence is purchasing emission off-sets from Carbonfund.org to mitigate the effects of the travel-related carbon output produced by all 675 workshop participants.

In all, Cadence is purchasing 258.82 metric tons of emission offsets. The money it costs to secure them will be spent on energy efficiency and renewable energy projects supported by non-profit Carbonfund.org, including wind, water, and solar energy initiatives, carbon trading markets, and energy-efficient technologies. Carbonfund.org's carbon calculators determine the impact of transportation and activities and the off-set required to counterbalance them.

"We are delighted to partner with EEI to make their spring workshop a carbon-neutral event through the purchase of emission offsets," says Jeff Hart, President of Cadence Network. "It's a great way to show our support for not just their organization, but also contribute to the bigger picture of sustainability in the United States. These are the kinds of investments we encourage other corporations to make, which is why we want to lead by example. The more businesses participate in carbon offsets, the more effective every dollar will be."

EEI, an association of U.S. shareholder-owned electric companies, strives to advance the industry and ensure a competitive position in a changing marketplace.

The agenda for the EEI National Accounts Spring Workshop includes presentations such as Managing Energy and Environmental Information, Energy Supply Market Updates, Calculating Your Carbon Footprint and more.
