DALLAS, TX, - February 18, 2008 "“ The Odee Company, a commercial printer located in Dallas, announced today that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the country’s leading carbon offset organizations. The Odee Company, established in 1923, is one of the first printing companies in Dallas to go CarbonFree. This commitment establishes The Odee Company as an environmental leader in the Dallas commercial printing community and demonstrates the proactive steps The Odee Company is taking to help "Dallas Go Green."

The Odee Company decided to partner with Carbonfund.org because of the many other high-profile organizations that trust it to offset their carbon emissions. In addition, since its products use wood and Carbonfund.org offers the choice to directly support reforestation, The Odee Company felt it was the right offset provider for taking the next step in leading the business community into protecting the environment.

To address its customers' concerns about the environment, the Odee Company already recycles and uses vegetable-based inks, and it is in the process of changing its lighting to high efficiency fluorescents. It felt offsetting was an important part of being good stewards for future generations. "As a family-owned company, and keeping in mind the future for our children and our employees' children, we felt it was time to do something more," said Buzz Tatom, President of the Odee Company. "Dallas is a great city and we want to lead the way in protecting our world from climate change."

"The Odee Company has a great 85 year history of trying to do the right thing for the City of Dallas business community," added Tatom. "We felt it was a logical step for us to become CarbonFree in the production of our customer’s printed products. I have real concerns about the world we are leaving for our children and hope that The Odee Company's example will lead others to consider doing what they can to reduce their environmental impact."

"It's great that the Odee Company recognizes the importance of environmental leadership for the sake of children as well as the future of its business," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "As a family-run company, those two issues come together for The Odee Company in a very direct way. We are very pleased that they have the foresight to support a low-carbon future."
