ORLANDO, FL - January 28, 2008 "“ Galaxy Nutritional Foods, a leading provider of cheese alternatives and organic foods, announced today that it has offset its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the country's leading carbon offset organizations. With this partnership, Galaxy is taking their product shipping and office CarbonFree. Galaxy is the first food company to join Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree shipping program.

Galaxy's customers are very concerned about global warming. Galaxy is addressing their concerns by supporting a basket of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation projects through Carbonfund.org. The allocation of funds to each project type is based on feedback collected on the Galaxy website.

Galaxy is extending its commitment to provide smart food choices by considering its environmental impact as part of an Eat Green For Body & Earth(TM) campaign. The initiative, in addition to carbon offsets, emphasizes the use of organic ingredients which do not release synthetic fertilizers and pesticides into the environment. Additionally, Galaxy has "greened" its offices by putting the environmentally conscious motto Reduce, Reuse, Recycle into practice.

"As a natural foods company geared towards health conscious consumers, it makes sense that we would also be concerned about the health of our planet," said Michael E. Broll, Galaxy's Chief Executive Officer. "We're proud to be the first food company to partner with Carbonfund.org on CarbonFree shipping."

"Galaxy Nutritional Foods recognizes that food production and preparation is one of the largest sources of carbon dioxide emissions in the retail sector," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "By offsetting emissions associated with shipping their products, Galaxy is leading the way to a cleaner future when our daily bread will be healthy for the planet as well as for the individual. We are delighted to partner with them."
