SAN DIEGO, CA - January 22, 2008 "“ MotivEarth announced today it has partnered with Carbonfund.org to become the first Recognized CarbonFree(TM) Life Cycle Assessment Provider. MotivEarth will conduct product life cycle assessments according to the Carbonfund.org CarbonFree(TM) Carbon Footprint Protocol.

The CarbonFree(TM) Carbon Footprint Protocol was created by Carbonfund.org and the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Management to provide a transparent, standardized method for measuring the carbon footprint of a product. Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree(TM) label designates products that have undergone a rigorous "life cycle analysis" to determine how much emitted carbon the product is responsible for, from the gathering of raw materials to the electricity used in production and the shipping of products to their final destination on the shelves.

"We are pleased to partner with Carbonfund.org to provide greenhouse gas life-cycle assessment (LCA) services," said MotivEarth Principal James A. Westbrook. "The CarbonFree(TM) product label enables consumers to connect their purchases with a commitment to the environment. arbonfund.org's protocol also compels companies to review and take action to reduce carbon emissions. MotivEarth's up-front consultation services evaluate the scope of carbon emissions across a product's life-cycle while our project development division helps companies take further financially viable steps towards direct reductions."

"Our goal is for every company to offset the greenhouse gas emissions associated with its products," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "The Carbon Footprint Protocol provides the ability to measure those emissions. Our partnership with MotivEarth will enable more companies to conduct standardized life cycle assessments, which is a big step toward our ultimate goal of achieving wide adoption of the CarbonFreeâ„¢ product label."
