WILMINGTON, NY - December 12, 2007 "“ Adirondack Holiday and AdirondackWildlife.org today announced that it has offset its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, the country's leading carbon offset organization.

Adirondack Holiday is reducing carbon emissions not only by supporting reforestation projects, but by measures such as transitioning to compact fluorescent light bulbs, using proper insulation, and walking or biking when possible. In addition, the AdirondackWildlife.org Web site emphasizes habitat awareness through its trail guides and hiking suggestions, as it continues to promote knowledge of the natural world.

This commitment places Adirondack Holiday as an environmental leader in the Whiteface, NY community and demonstrates proactive steps being taken in the fight against global climate change. Planet earth is not a commodity; it is an intricate masterpiece which must be revitalized.

"Many people are concerned with reducing and offsetting in their daily lives, but what about when vacation time rolls around?" Carbonfund.org Executive Director Eric Carlson said. "Adirondack Holiday has shown real leadership by offsetting its emissions. Now its guests can enjoy all the natural beauty the Adirondacks are famous for and feel good about it, too."

About Adirondack Holiday

Our organization was created as a single rental property on 60 acres of forest abutting the river with wetlands, home to a great variety of wildlilfe. It expanded into an organization after we decided to open our land to the public, including an interpretive nature trail. In May, 2007, we inaugurated an annual non-profit Habitat Awareness Day for the northern Adirondack region with the intention of enhancing public awareness to the conservation issues of the region and the world. Our plans for the immediate future include a wildlife rehabilitation center, where non-releasable raptors will be used to illustrate the urgency of these issues.
