SAN FRANCISCO, CA - October 12, 2007 - Greenback Search announces a search solution that "gives some green back" through Carbonfund.org, the country's leading carbon solutions organization. Greenback Search is powered by Google, so the results have the same high quality as any search provider; however, Greenback Search gives back to our environment by purchasing carbon offsets on behalf of its users when their searches earn revenue.

Greenback Search displays for its users how much carbon has been offset as a result of the user's search activity. Additionally, users can show off their environmental contribution on their Facebook profile using the Greenback Search Facebook application. Greenback Search also has designed a widget for those who run a blog. The Greenback Search widget for bloggers allows users to search the internet from the widget and displays the environmental contribution made from those searches.

"With growing concern about global warming, using Greenback Search instead of Google simply makes sense. It's all powered by the same search engine, but when you use Greenback Search, you are actively helping our environment," says Martha Decker, a user of Greenback Search.

"You know what search engine I'll be using!" said Steve Offutt, Senior Advisor at Carbonfund.org. "All kidding aside, we're pleased to be partnering with Greenback Search and working together in the fight against global warming."

Carbonfund.org is a non-profit organization whose goal is to make carbon offsets and climate protection easy, affordable and a normal way of life for every individual and business. Carbon offsets enable individuals and businesses to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to offset the emissions they are responsible for in their normal activities, like home, office, driving or air travel emissions. For instance, a clean, zero CO2 wind farm can offset the carbon dioxide produced by a coal-fired power plant.

By supporting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation projects Carbonfund.org will retire an equivalent amount of carbon offsets. The financial support from these offsets will then help to continue the development of clean, renewable domestic sources of energy.
