(Silver Spring, MD) - Mofilms' latest movie, Freedom Fuels, is now Carbonfree™ thanks to Carbonfund.org. Freedom Fuels, winner of The Environmental Preservation Award at the 2006 Artivist Film Festival, takes a hard look at renewable fuel sources and the possibility of transitioning away from a fossil fuel-based transportation system.

Freedom Fuels director and executive producer Martin O'Brien knew that he should take responsibility for the carbon emissions associated with a film about creating more sustainable transportation systems. By working with Carbonfund.org, he found an easy and affordable way to offset the CO2 created during the film production process. CO2 was produced by air travel, ground transportation, and production equipment. Carbonfund.org will offset this CO2 by supporting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation on behalf of Mofilms.

Freedom Fuels takes an in-depth look at renewable fuel sources, such as biodiesel, ethanol & vegetable oil. The film explores how the petroleum industry and alternative fuels have interacted over the last 150 years, and examines the global impact that biofuels can have on our future. This important film will make its world premier at the Artivist Film Festival at Hollywood's famed Egyptian Theater on November 11, 2006.

"Carbonfund.org is dedicated to educating citizens about solutions to climate change, so we're proud to support Freedom Fuels by offsetting the film," said Eric Carlson, executive director of Carbonfund.org. "This is the first Carbonfree™ film, and we're excited that distinction will belong to a film that is not only award-winning, but that also helps people understand more about renewable resources."

"Considering the reason why we made Freedom Fuels, we thought it was very important to offset the climate change impact of the film," said O'Brien. "Carbonfund.org's Carbonfree™ program was a perfect fit for what we were looking for and made it easy and affordable for us to offset Freedom Fuels."
