Silver Spring, MD - National Wildlife Federation® (NWF), America's conservation organization, and Carbonfund.org, the leading non-profit provider of carbon offsets, today announced a major new partnership aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions, the leading cause of global warming.

Carbonfund.org and NWF are launching a year-long education campaign to promote cost-effective solutions to global warming. The campaign will reach more than a million NWF members to educate them about the impact of travel and other everyday activities on carbon dioxide emissions, and about carbon offsets as a simple, affordable ways to reduce their global warming impact to zero. NWF will also promote the program to its employees and corporate partners.

NWF will offer carbon offsets to travelers participating in its more than thirty annual NWF Expeditions trips, allowing travelers to go Carbonfree™ with Carbonfund.org. Carbonfund.org will determine the carbon footprint of each trip and then NWF will give travelers an option to contribute a small additional amount to cover the offset cost.
