Boost Mobile(R), Sprint's (NYSE:S) youth lifestyle brand, will add a tool to its Pay-As-You-Go wireless service aimed at helping American youth provide aid to the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief effort.

Boost customers may donate up to $25 from their prepaid account to the American Red Cross to help provide immediate relief and emergency supplies to the estimated 400,000 people in New Orleans who have lost their homes and are in critical need of basic care and support. Boost Mobile will match its customers' contributions up to $50,000.

"We believe that American youth are actively seeking ways to contribute to the relief effort," said Don Girskis, vice president and general manager, Boost Mobile. "From volunteerism to donating funds, we've seen today's young people step up to the plate numerous times to provide a helping hand and we expect a positive response to this effort."

Boost customers seeking to contribute simply text the word "give" using Boost(TM) Text Messaging to code "2HELP" (24357). Each transaction (limit of five) contributes $5 to the cause and includes a response confirming receipt of the donation, which is deducted from their Boost Mobile(R) Pay-As-You-Go wireless service account.
