DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2007--The Qwest Foundation, The Fund for Colorado's Future and the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) today announced that 28 teachers across Colorado will benefit from $100,000 in Qwest Foundation support. Qwest is providing the money to fuel the inclusion of technology in the classrooms to help enhance the education experience for students.

"Finding creative ways to incorporate technology in the classroom is key to improving our local and national education system," said Chuck Ward, Qwest's Colorado state president. "After partnering with two of the state's leading education organizations, we reviewed more than 100 funding requests, selected the 16 most promising proposals,
and will soon distribute the grant money directly to teachers."

The purpose of the Qwest Teachers and Technology grant program is to recognize and support public school teachers who want to improve student performance by using technology in their classrooms in new and innovative ways. The grants will be awarded to teachers this June after a competitive process was administered by PEBC and the Fund for Colorado's Future.

Between June 18 and June 27, Chuck Ward will travel the state to present the winning teachers with the Qwest Foundation grants. Awards will be presented to teachers from Alamosa, Colorado Springs, Elbert, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, Longmont, Montrose, Pueblo, St. Vrain Valley and Widefield.
