DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2007--Denver Mattress Company donated over $146,000 to the Colorado Chapter of The Salvation Army through their 7th Annual Operation: Rest Assured Charity campaign.
Denver Mattress raised the fund through an in-store campaign. The logistics of the campaign consists of $20 being allocated for each mattress sold from the end of November through December 31, 2006 to The Salvation Army.
In addition, Denver Mattress underwrote a comprehensive direct donation fundraising awareness campaign. This included both newspaper and television advertising to solicit donations and raise awareness for The Salvation Army.
The donation comes as a welcome relief this year to The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is coping with the financial impact of Colorado's brutal winter coupled with a 7% decrease in kettle donations during the holiday season.
