The School of Business at Western New England College will host its 5th annual International Business Week program from Monday, October 17 through Thursday, October 20. The theme of this year's program is "Corporate Social Responsibility in a Global Economy." A number of events featuring business leaders from around the world will be held throughout campus as part of the program. All events, with the exception of the opening banquet, are free. All events are open to the public

On Monday, October 17, former NBA star Manute Bol will speak on "Living a Life of Global Social Responsibility" during an opening banquet at 6:00 p.m. in Rivers Memorial Hall. Proceeds from the dinner and a silent auction of sports memorabilia will go to the Ring True Foundation, which helps children in Bol's native Sudan. Tickets for the evening are $25, and are available by calling the School of Business at 413-782-1231.

On Tuesday, October 18, Nick Fyntrilakis and Patrick Kappenman present
"Social Responsibility: A Fortune 100 Company's Perspective" at 3:30 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Fyntrilakis is MassMutual's community relations director, while Kappenman is the company's strategic relationship manager. They will speak about the company's perspective on social responsibility and various initiatives the company supports in New England, across the country, and around the world.

Also on *Tuesday, October 18*, there will be a screening of the documentary "The Corporation" at 7:00 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Winner of 24 international film awards, "The Corporation" explores the economic and social interdependence among individuals, corporations, and nations. Footage from pop culture, advertising, TV news, and corporate propaganda illuminates the corporation's grip on our lives.

On Wednesday, October 19, Amy Hall, social consciousness director at Eileen Fisher, Inc., will speak about international accountability standards at 3:30 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Hall will discuss how the clothing designer and retailer monitors international factories and helps them set goals based on social accountability standards.

Also on *Wednesday, October 19*, business leaders will take part in a panel discussion on the issues and challenges facing organizations interested in acting responsibly in a global economy at 7:00 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Panelists include James McCabe, Consumer Policy Director, American National Standards Institute; Amy Hall, Social Consciousness Director, Eileen Fisher, Inc.; Mark Orlikowski, Executive Director, Sustainable Endowments Institute; Ann van Geldern, V.P Global Initiatives, GE Consumer Finance and Western New England College Alum.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Jeanie Forray, Chair of the International Programs Committee at the Western New England College School of Business.

On *Thursday, October 20*, Olga Amsheeva, former consultant to the European Court of Human Rights, will speak on "Corporate Social Responsibility in Russia" at 3:30 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Amsheeva will discuss the evolving concept of good corporate citizenship in the former Soviet Union.

Also on *Thursday, October 20*, Mark Orlikowski, executive director of
the Sustainable Endowments Institute, will speak on "College ProxyPower: How You Can Make a Difference" at 7:00 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Orlikowski is a founding member of the Responsible Endowments Coalition, a group which monitors how academic institutions are screening portfolios, voting shareholder proxies, and investing in local communities to promote social responsibility.
