HAWTHORNE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2006--William Kelly, Chief Technical Officer of Cereplast, Inc.(TM) (OTCBB:CERP), a producer of renewable and biodegradable resins that are alternatives to petroleum based resins, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Bioplastics Processing Conference. The conference is the first of its kind and will focus on issues related to the recent technology advances for polymer compounds that are derived from "environmentally friendly" renewable resources. Some of the key participants in the conference include DuPont (NYSE:DD), NatureWorks Llc., and Metabolix (NASD:MBLX). In addition, pertinent industry issues, such as all major processes and degradability, will be discussed. Mr. Kelly, who will be closing the two-day conference, will focus on the topic of "Displacing Petroleum-Based Plastics with Bio-Products."

The conference will be held at the Marriott City Center in Charlotte, North Carolina from December 5-6, and is being hosted by Plastic Technology Magazine and Polymer Process Communications.
