GLENDALE, Calif. - April 13, 2009 - Play has a purpose "“ to inspire, to motivate, to create and to energize. Every child deserves a great place to play, yet a steady decrease in the quality and quantity of play spaces has contributed to a decline in play throughout the United States. NESTL&Eacute CRUNCH(R) is partnering with KaBOOM! "“ the national non-profit organization dedicated to bringing play back into the lives of children "“ to embark on a "Cause for Play." NESTLÉ CRUNCH now invites parents, teachers, community organizers and anyone who seeks to inspire children through active play to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a residential ready-to-assemble playground, $3500 cash and the opportunity to help designate a $30,000 KaBOOM! playground grant to a deserving community.

"Parents everywhere need more moments of carefree joy watching their kids running, jumping, laughing and playing," said KaBOOM! CEO and Co-Founder Darell Hammond. "This partnership with NESTLÉ CRUNCH will help increase play opportunities for children across the country."

KaBOOM! and most other child-advocacy organizations including the American Heart Association advocate for an hour of play a day for kids. Physical, social and intellectual development all start at the playground, but not all children have access to a great place to play every day. In addition to the $30,000 KaBOOM! grant, NESTLÉ CRUNCH will also make a donation to KaBOOM!, up to $30,000, for every unique donation code found on NESTLE(R) and WONKA(R) fun-size bags and entered online, as well as an additional $70,000 donation to further the KaBOOM! mission. These types of donations enable KaBOOM! to provide kaboom.org users with online project planners, step-by-step project plans, and informative webinars on everything from enhancing the way kids play to raising funds and organizing volunteers.

NESTLÉ CRUNCH Cause for Play Sweepstakes

Sweepstakes begins March 7, 2009 and ends Oct. 29, 2009. One grand prize winner will receive a residential ready-to-assemble playground and $3,500 cash. In addition, NESTLÉ USA will donate $30,000 to KaBOOM! to support a community-build playground project. The grand prize winner will have the opportunity to help choose the actual community-build playground project by either selecting from a list of existing projects or by identifying a new project in a community of their choice.
