Western Business and Nonprofit Executives Will Learn to Collaborate at Companies & Causes Day: LA on October 3

LOS ANGELES, CA - September 25, 2007 - The masters of building "win win" alliances will share their success strategies at Companies & Causes: LA, a one-day workshop and networking event at the Hilton LA at Universal City on October 3.

Separate workshop tracks have been created to serve relative newcomers and veterans to the world of corporate social initiatives. Registration information is available at www.companiesandcauses.com or by calling (866) 205-8480.

The 101 Track of the Companies/Causes Alliance Institute will be taught by Scott Pansky, a cofounder and partner in Allison & Partners PR where he has built dozens of cause-related programs over the years for clients including Hasbro, Microsoft, NBC, Southwest Airlines, The American Library Association and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to name a few.

The 202 track of the Companies/Causes Alliance Institute includes a pair of advanced workshops. In the morning, Attorney Ed Chansky of Levett Rockwood will lead the Cause Marketing Legal Workshop. In the afternoon, Maureen Carlson and Brittany Hastings of Caliber Sales & Marketing will lead "The Positioning Workshop: Winning Support for Cause Alliances from Internal and External Audiences."

Between the am and pm institute sessions the program features a networking reception and the Companies and Causes Day: LA luncheon including three valuable presentations:

Cause Marketing Forum President David Hessekiel will give an executive briefing on important trends impacting the expanding field of cross-sector alliances.

Kurt Aschermann, former chief marketing and development officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, will share 10 key points business and nonprofit executives should consider in building partnerships.

Sarah Grover, president of The California Pizza Kitchen Foundation, and Kendra Walker, VP Corporate Communications for Hilton Hotels Corporation, will join David Hessekiel to explore their companies' experiences building local and national alliances.
