Via Delphi logoChildren's Day turned out to be the perfect time for 70 children with varying degrees of mental and physical challenges to spend their day with dolphins at the Via Delphi facilities in Xcaret and Xel-Ha parks.

Social worker Eva Rincon of the Cancún General Care Facility who accompanied one of the groups was all smiles, saying: "this is a great opportunity for our children, many of them are from poor family backgrounds and would normally never have access to swimming with dolphins." She added that this type of activity helps the children to expand their learning abilities while teaching them live facts about the animals. "We are thankful for Via Delphi's involvement."

According to Claudia Guerrero, public relations manager, this program "is ongoing for the last 15 years, that's a long time, and we are now starting a new phase in which the dolphinarium will reach out directly to the community. We want to stimulate the children, especially their emotions. Part of our philosophy involves awakening people's consciousness to the importance of conserving and protecting dolphins and animals in general by allowing them to interact."

The Via Delphi facility is a research and interactive center. Our efforts in community involvement, environmental conservation, corporate quality of life, and corporate ethics have earned us the CEMFI (Mexican Philanthropic Center) Socially Responsible Corporation award two years in a row. The success rate of our breeding program is considered exceptional, with a survival rate of 74% compared to 35% in the wild and 50% in other dolphin care facilities elsewhere in the world.
