Madison, February 9, 2009 - Leonardo Academy has announced LEED Training Seminars to take place at the Clinton Presidential Center on April 10-11, 2009. Leonardo Academy is kicking-off a new series of LEED training seminars at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, AR. These Leonardo Academy training seminars on LEED and other sustainability topics will be held at the Presidential Center on a regular basis throughout 2009. The seminars will enable attendees to sharpen their LEED skills in order to advance LEED for their companies and clients. The following sessions will be held:

  • Getting Started With LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) Learn how your company or organization can get started with LEED-EB even in these economically challenging times. The session covers getting started with the low-hanging fruit as well as finding ways to address the typical challenges encountered while moving forward toward certification.
  • LEED-NC to LEED-EB: Clinton Presidential Library Case Study Learn how to do it from the team that took the Clinton Presidential Library from LEED-NC Silver to LEED-EB Platinum. All LEED-NC certified buildings need to get to work on implementing LEED-EB in order to assure that the sustainable performance potential of these buildings is achieved. This panel discussion with the Clinton Library and Leonardo Academy staff members who participated in getting the Library LEED-EB certified will explain the process and answer your questions about how to transition successfully from LEED-NC to LEED-EB.
  • Reception and Networking Event This reception immediately following the discussion of the Clinton Presidential Library Case Study will provide an opportunity for informal discussions with session presenters and participants.
  • Economics of LEED Learn the latest information on the economics of LEED. If you've always wondered about the costs and benefits of going after LEED certification, this is the course for you.
  • Green Leasing Learn how to add sustainability to the leasing of commercial building space. This session covers the perspectives of the building owner, the broker, and the tenant when implementing green leasing. Learn how to include sustainability in RFPs for newly leased space, in contracts, and in existing lease renewals.

Registration will be online through March 15, 2009 at www.leonardoacademy.org/training. See this website for details about the sessions and registration.

LEED for Existing Buildings - LEED-EB provides a framework for achieving green improvements in all existing commercial buildings. Buildings certified under the LEED-NC program can also continually improve environmental performance by seeking LEED-EB re-certification.
