SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 2006--VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced the successful transition to RoHS-compliant product variants shipped to European Union countries.

With implementation of RoHS-- the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances -- the EU has banned the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE flame-retardants in most electrical and electronic equipment put on the EU markets. Beginning July 1, 2006, all products put on the EU markets must comply with the Directive.
