RADCLIFF, KY - November 20, 2008 - USA Cares is a recipient of a charitable donation on behalf of Harrah's Imperial Palace and Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon's Harrah's Entertainment Employees Reach Out and Salute America’s Veterans (H.E.R.O.) program.

Harrah's hosted the USA Cares 2008 Veterans Day Golf Tournament Fund Raiser on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Harrah's Cascata Golf Course in Las Vegas to help support the organization and its mission to help military families who are in financial need. Receipts from Harrah's Employee donations and the golf event topped $20,000 in funding for the troops and their families.

"Harrah's has really stepped up to support USA Cares, and we can't thank them enough," USA Cares Executive Director Bill Nelson said. "The proceeds from this tournament will be a wonderful source of support for our military families."

After a breakfast at 8 a.m. and sign-in, the tournament began with a shotgun start at 9:30. A luncheon followed the eighteen holes of golf and featured awards and raffle drawings. Sergeant Bryan Anderson, an Iraq war veteran, actor and spokesman for USA Cares "Red Shirt Friday, I Care Too" campaign was the featured speaker. Major General (Retired) Terry Tucker in his remarks reminded the audience that the war is still going on, and that the importance of having soldiers being able to focus on their mission because their families are cared for saves lives.
