SAN FRANCISCO, CA "“ September 11, 2007 - RSF Social Finance provided a significant loan to Better Energy Systems, the award-winning company that designs and manufactures Solio, the first solar hybrid charger on the market for mobile devices such as cell phones, PDA's, MP3 players, and GPS navigation systems. The company received the Best of Show award at Macworld in 2005, and yesterday was honored at GoingGreen 2007 for being one of the 100 most innovative private companies in the green technology space.

Founded in 2001, the London-based company was created with the vision to commercialize renewable energy technologies and make them available to everyone. RSF's loan will be key to the continued growth of Better Energy Systems whose sales have more than doubled every year for the past three years.

"RSF is the perfect financial partner for Better Energy Systems," says Christopher Hornor, founder and CEO. "We share the same vision and mission to strengthen the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. This loan will allow our company to strengthen our internal operations to take advantage of the opportunities facing us during this period of accelerated growth."

In providing financing to Better Energy Systems, RSF helps reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, promotes the use of renewable energy, and supports a company that incorporates sustainable practices in the manufacturing of its products. Better Energy Systems performs full toxicity analysis on its products, uses recycled materials when possible, and offsets carbon emissions by supporting renewable energy projects in Africa.

Better Energy Systems also partners with charitable organizations to make Solio available in emergency situations and communities with limited access to electricity. American Red Cross Emergency Response Team included Solio in its emergency communication response kit after Solio enabled communication in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Better Energy Systems' Million Points of Light program, a combination of microenterprise, partnerships, and technology will provide poor communities in Africa a better, cleaner alternative to kerosene lamps.

"Better Energy Systems represents what social entrepreneurship is all about-bringing innovative products to the marketplace that enhance the quality of life on this planet in an environmentally sensitive manner," says Mark A. Finser, president and CEO of RSF Social Finance. "We at RSF are tremendously excited about this opportunity to work with Chris Hornor and his team in promoting clean, renewable energy for the public here in the U.S. and abroad."
