LAS VEGAS - August 1, 2007- MGM MIRAGE employees announced that a record-breaking $6.2 million has been raised to benefit the communities where they live and work. The money will be used to fund 87 grants to more than 70 nonprofit organizations and deserving community-based programs. Employees raised the money during this year's annual MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation fundraising campaign. The Voice Foundation is the company's nonprofit, philanthropic entity that collects and disburses employee donations.

"Each year our employees step up to the challenge and generously commit to uplifting the lives of countless individuals in our community," said Merlinda Gallegos, MGM MIRAGE Vice President of Corporate Philanthropy. "The success of this year’s fundraising efforts demonstrates the culture of giving among our employees and the power they have to make a difference."

MGM MIRAGE also presented its inaugural Employee Volunteer of the Year Awards to employees whose volunteer efforts have touched the lives of the people they serve. Diana Hewitt, Director of Pit Clerk Operations at Bellagio, and Lonnie Williams, Bar Porter at Treasure Island, were honored for their commitment to the community and each received a $1,000 mini-grant to benefit the charity where they volunteer.

Since the inception of the MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation, fundraising efforts have raised more than $24 million providing funding to more than 1,000 organizations. MGM MIRAGE underwrites all administrative costs associated with operating and managing the Voice Foundation, ensuring that 100 percent of employee donations go to the intended recipients.

The MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation allows employees to contribute to several entities including an employee's preferred charity; the Employee Emergency Relief Fund that helps fellow employees during emergency situations; the local United Way; the Children’s Medical Support Fund which provides employees with short-term financial assistance when their child is faced with a medical emergency; or the Voice Community Fund which supports grants to non-profit agencies that are selected by the MGM MIRAGE Community Voice Council (CVC).
