SAN FRANCISCO, CA - April 14, 2009 - Center for Resource Solutions announced today that iStoreGreen Self Storage (formally Hall Street Storage) continued its participation in the Green-e(R) Marketplace program by purchasing enough Green-e Certified renewable energy to meet 100% of the annual electricity needs for its facility's operations. The Brooklyn, NY-based facility purchased 3,200 MWh of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) from Constellation NewEnergy. As a member of Green-e Marketplace, iStoreGreen will continue to display the Green-e logo to inform consumers that they purchased 100% Green-e Certified renewable energy.

iStoreGreen's purchase of certified renewable energy is only one of many initiatives the company has begun in an effort to reduce its environmental footprint. It is also commissioning a local bicycle-powered pedi-van service to transport goods, installing solar hot water heating, offering biodegradable packing peanuts, reusing packing boxes, offering greener alternatives to bubble wrap like shredded paper, and maintaining a room for discarded items to be given to a local charity instead of ending up in the landfill.

"iStoreGreen is a great example for growing businesses that want to incorporate environmental responsibility at all levels of the organization," said Jennifer Giles, Director of Sustainable Energy Initiatives at CRS. "As a member of Green-e Marketplace, iStore Green is ensuring that the renewable energy they're buying is of the highest quality, and helps build the market for new renewable development nationwide."

"Our commitment to having the lowest impact on the environment is more than one of policy, it's become our primary passion," said Jeffrey E. Sitt, President of iStoreGreen Self Storage. "We at iStoreGreen are proud to have taken a leading role in our industry, with environmental sustainability being our first priority; we see that by investing in clean energy, we are not only making a statement, we can serve as a role model to others in the industrial and business communities alike."
iStoreGreen will display the Green-e logo, the national symbol for renewable energy excellence, to help its customers identify its superior products and services that are provided using certified renewable energy at its storage facility located at 12-38 Hall Street, in Brooklyn, NY.

iStoreGreen joins a growing list of companies and organizations that are taking real action to reduce their share of greenhouse gas emissions. Electricity generated from renewable sources results in less environmental waste and pollution, and displaces other non-renewable sources from the electric grid. iStoreGreen's purchase of electricity generated from nearly emissions-free renewable sources avoids carbon dioxide emissions and serves to build the market for renewable energy nationwide, increasing the incentives for building new facilities. Currently, renewable energy accounts for only about two percent of total electricity generation nationwide.

The RECs purchased by iStoreGreen were certified by Green-e Energy, the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards, including ensuring renewable energy is sourced from verified, new facilities; not double-counted towards any state's renewable energy goal; and retired on behalf of the purchaser. By joining Green-e Marketplace, iStoreGreen will continue to follow auditing procedures that verify the organization's purchase, allowing them to use the Green-e logo.
