SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - April 8, 2009 - Center for Resource Solutions announced today that BurstNET Technologies, Inc. joined Green-e(R) Marketplace by purchasing enough Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy to meet 100% of the annual electricity needs for its entire U.S. operations. The Scranton, PA"“based company purchased 5,000 MWh of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) from Community Energy, sourced from national wind generation. As a member of Green-e Marketplace, BurstNET can now display the Green-e logo to inform consumers that it purchased 100% Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy.

"It's important to us that we show leadership in our industry by doing our part for the environment," said Shawn M. Arcus, President and CEO of BurstNET. "We are proud to say that 100% of our electricity use comes from wind power, and we are one of the first data centers globally to take this step. This purchase, along with other eco-friendly business practices, demonstrates our continued commitment to protecting the environment."

BurstNET will display the Green-e logo, the national symbol for renewable energy excellence, to help its customers identify that its hosting and operations facilities are using certified renewable energy. BurstNET joins a growing list of companies and organizations that are taking real action to reduce their share of greenhouse gas emissions. Electricity generated from renewable sources results in less environmental waste and pollution, and displaces other non-renewable sources from the electric grid. BurstNET's purchase of electricity generated from nearly emissions-free renewable sources avoids carbon dioxide emissions and serves to build the market for renewable energy nationwide, increasing the incentives for building new facilities. Currently, renewable energy accounts for only about two percent of total electricity generation nationwide.

"One of the best means to reduce the environmental impact that energy-intensive datacenters have on the environment is to replace fossil fuel energy sources with renewable energy," said Justin Roth, Green-e Marketplace program analyst. "That is why we are pleased that BurstNET is purchasing certified renewable energy to match 100% of its electricity use. The company is helping to build the market for new renewable generation."

The RECs purchased by BurstNET were certified by Green-e Energy, the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards, including ensuring renewable energy is sourced from verified, new facilities; not double-counted towards any state's renewable energy goal; and retired on behalf of the purchaser. By joining Green-e Marketplace, BurstNET is submitting to auditing procedures that verify the organization's purchase, allowing them to use the Green-e logo.
