CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2006--Clear Channel Outdoor(NYSE:CCO) and the Northeast Ohio Amber Alert Board today announced the successful conclusion of Amber Alert testing on seven digital billboards serving the Cleveland-metro area. The completion of the test officially gives the North East Ohio Amber Alert Board exclusive access to the digital billboards. The seven billboards are located along five interstate highways throughout Cuyahoga County.

"We could not be more excited about our ability to utilize our digital technology to provide this invaluable community service, which will be available to the City of Cleveland not only when a child is missing but also during a wide array of other community emergencies," said Paul Meyer, Global President of Clear Channel Outdoor. "We expect to establish similar emergency messaging protocols in other cities where Clear Channel Outdoor has deployed digital networks."

"These digital billboards will allow police agencies in Cuyahoga County to get missing children information out as quickly as possible. The network will also allow eight other counties in the immediate area access if necessary. We'd like to thank Clear Channel Outdoor for giving local authorities unprecedented access to these billboards," said Mike Kallai, Chief of Police, Barberton, Director of the Northeast Ohio Amber Alert Committee.

As part of its agreement with Clear Channel Outdoor, Cuyahoga County Emergency Communications Systems (CECOMS) now has the ability to download missing child information, including a photograph, onto a secure Web site. By activating a system that is set up only for the purpose of communicating Amber Alert messages, the information will override the commercial schedule that is currently playing on each digital unit.

CECOMS has the ability to update information remotely as long as the Amber Alert is active. The Amber Alert message will be displayed for the first hour of the Amber Alert. It then will fall in with the timed display of schedule advertising until the Alert is cancelled.
