CAL FIRE/California State Fire Marshal and California State Fire Safe Council will Join Farmers Insurance for a Wildfire Preparedness Press Conference

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Fire season is moving into its peak months and due to the extreme dry weather we must all be vigilant in our quest to prevent forest fires. Please join the CAL FIRE/California State Fire Marshal, California Fire Safe Council and Farmers Insurance October 3, 2008 for a special Fire Preparedness announcement.

"The fire threat in California is year-round and we want to sound the fire prevention alarm to all Californians to be prepared in the peak fire months ahead," explained Kirk Tweedy, Farmers State Executive Director. "We thank the CAL FIRE/California State Fire Marshal's office and the California Fire Safe Council for joining us at a press conference to get the fire preparedness messages to all Californians."

"We are pleased to partner with the California Fire Safe Council and Farmers Insurance, to continue to educate Californians about the need to implement fire prevention methods in and around their homes," noted State Fire Marshal Kate Dargan. "October is a peak month for fires, and we hope all families are prepared and focused on a family disaster/evacuation plan."

WHAT: "Wildfire Preparedness Press Conference." A Farmers Customer Care Claims vehicle (CCV) will also be on display. This mobile unit is one from a Farmers catastrophe fleet comprised of 35 CCV's and two Mobile Claims Buses 45' long with state-of-the-art communications equipment and supplies to immediately help customers and citizens in need.
