(CSRwire)ROYAL OAK, MI - April 30, 2008- The National Adopt A Watt(TM) Program is pleased to announce the Cortez Municipal (CEZ) and Savanna-Hilton Head International (SAV) Airports participation in it's clean energy and alternative fuel funding program.

Cortez Municipal Airport (CEZ):

"We are very excited about this new venture for Cortez Municipal Airport. While raising the consciousness of alternative energy sources with the local community, we are also raising funds to enter a capital program here at the Airport to purchase alternative transportation for Airport maintenance, security, and administrative staff." Stated Russ Machen, Manager, Cortez Municipal Airport. "With the price of oil on a ballistic upward move, it makes it all the more paramount to begin now, not later. I've got a very tight budget, which I must use responsibly. Energy conservation and alternative sourcing is one way I can keep operation costs in check".

Cortez City Manager, Jay Harrington adds, "The City of Cortez is excited about participating in the Adopt-A-Watt program and is presently exploring other potential locations within the City. Our geographic location provides huge solar opportunities and we hope this is the first of many solar applications for the City of Cortez."

"The Airport and City of Cortez are to be commended for foresight and vision of embracing 21st century energy", stated Thomas A. Wither, Founder of the National Adopt-A-Watt(TM) Program. "Their decision demonstrates that even in these economically challenging times it is possible to do 'the right thing' and at the same time financially benefit your community. We look forward to helping them achieve their clean energy goals."

Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV):

"We all understand the importance of exploring energy alternatives and, as part of our overall focus for 2008, our Staff is working to minimize the Airport’s effect on the environment," said Patrick S. Graham, Executive Director. "We look forward to working with Adopt-A-Watt in the generation of clean energy and the creation of community awareness."

"It is very gratifying to have another International Airport and an Executive Director of Mr. Graham’s stature join our program." Remarked Wither. "The recent unanimous Savannah Airport Commission approval of our program proves that this airport is serious about promoting clean energy and becoming 'part of the solution'. We are excited about working together to build a bright, new, clean energy future."

Sponsoring opportunities are now available at both airports. "NAAWP sponsorship offers a high-profile opportunity to show support for clean energy and reducing America's dependence on foreign oil," Wither says. He further states, "Sponsorship puts a spotlight on corporate citizenship programs and demonstrably reinforces organizations de-carbonization campaigns...action speaks louder then words".

About the NAAWP-- Modeled after the successful Adopt-a-Highway acknowledgment program, the patent pending, NAAWP gives sponsors community recognition for funding clean energy, alternative fuel and energy efficiency projects. The program arranges and coordinates all sponsorship, financing, installation and on-going maintenance for Sponsor-able Photo-Voltaic Displays (SPVDs). A SPVD is a complete (.5) kW solar electric system that uniquely generates both clean energy and a new source of revenue that is used to fund other energy saving equipment or alternative fuel infrastructure.

Sponsorship of SPVDs is arranged via a virtual auction process at the National Adopt-A-Watt(TM) Web site, www.adopt-a-watt.com. This permits global participation and matches sponsor needs with locations at rest areas, travel plazas, bridges, tunnels, hospitals, airports, sports/entertain complexes, schools, hospitals, transit-light rail/bus stops, etc.

In addition to offering individuals, foundations and non-profits an impacting and visible means of displaying philanthropy, the NAAWP presents an exciting, new, alternative media platform for corporations to benefit the communities they serve while demonstrating 21st century Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and generating favorable brand awareness.

The NAAWP is endorsed by many national alternative fuel organizations and has the support of (41) Clean Cities coalitions in (21) states.
