Chicago / London / Cologne. - April 3, 2009 - Underscoring the Obama Administration’s eagerness to quickly move on Climate Change Legislation, Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council of Environmental Quality (CEQ), has agreed to deliver the keynote to over 800 attendees and 45 exhibitors during the opening of Carbon TradeEx America at the Washington E. Convention Center next week. This event presents a unique forum with 25 sessions featuring over 120 leading players from the climate policy and carbon finance community.

This industry event follows just one week after the "American Clean Energy & Security Act Bill" was proposed for discussion by the U.S. House & Commerce Committee and will add to lively discussions between senior Obama officials, representatives of the 111th Congress and the Carbon Finance Industry. Chair Sutley is a key member of the Obama administration climate team and serves as the principal environmental policy adviser to the President.

Chair Sutley advises the President and Vice President on national and international environmental policy matters and works to ensure that federal agencies operate efficiently and in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.

Other top level speakers include former New York Governor - George E. Pataki, the Chair of WWF - Bruce Babbitt, Walter Isaacson from the Aspen Institute and Carlos Pascual from the Brookings Institution. The two day conference program will offer an in depth perspective on the emerging U. S. carbon market and will feature all the leaders in the climate change arena.
