BENSENVILLE, Ill., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boise Paper today released a listing of Boise(R) paper products that have earned third-party chain-of-custody certification. This is an integral component of a larger commitment by Boise to manage the company in a sustainable manner and to provide proof of solid business practices to customers and other stakeholders.

Earlier this year, Boise announced the receipt of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody Certification (SW-COC-002622) from the Rainforest Alliance's SmartWood program at their International Falls, MN and Jackson, AL paper mills. Boise Paper announced today an initial list of products that will carry FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification and will be available in the first quarter of 2008, which include:

-- Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) 50 Multi-use paper
-- Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) 100 Multi-use paper
-- Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) Laser paper
-- Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) Color Copy paper
-- Boise(R) HD:P(TM) Everyday Laser paper
-- Boise(R) HD:P(TM) Premier Print paper
-- Boise(R) HD:P(TM) Presentation Laser paper (available in 24#, 28# and 32#)

Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) premium recycled papers meet the same high standards as non-recycled papers, delivering excellent runnability, printability, and brightness. The Boise ASPEN family of products is among the most broad, comprehensive offerings from which environmentally conscious customers may choose to meet their everyday and premium imaging needs. As one of the industry leaders in recycled-content production, Boise's recycled paper manufacturing operations divert approximately 120,000 tons of recovered waste paper (equivalent to one million trees) from landfills each year.

Boise(R) HD:P(TM) High-Definition Papers are designed for high-fidelity digital color printing. The Boise HD:P line-up includes a broad range of finishes, weights, and sizes to meet the ever-changing needs of today's digital print-on-demand businesses. These papers are ideal for producing sharp graphics and vivid pictures when using premium digital print technology.

"Today's announcement of our chain-of-custody product certifications is consistent with our long-standing commitment to responsible forest management and procurement practices," said Christopher Forthaus, Boise Senior Portfolio Manager. "Adding this new assortment of FSC-certified products from Boise ensures that our customers will have access to high-quality paper products that meet their responsible sourcing guidelines."

In addition to offering these stocked products, Boise will make available roll products in the ASPEN(TM) and HD:P(TM) product lines on a manufacturing basis. For more information, contact a Boise sales representative.
