According to a December 2008 paper authored by Alliance for Water Efficiency, the economic benefits of clean tech infrastructure-related stimulus investments, like smart irrigation controllers, can provide an enormous return of investment and create new green jobs. Specifically, for every billion dollars of investment, the projected economic return ranges from $2.5 billion to $2.8 billion and generates 15,000 to 22,000 jobs.
