SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- For the tenth year in a row, Alta Vista High School's softball team has challenged the Mountain View, California Police Department to a friendly game of softball. In May members of the MVPD and ProWorks attempted to beat the Alta Vista High team in what has always proven to be an enjoyable day for everyone.

The game involved over 15 MVPD department members, including officers, detectives, captains, records personnel and Police Chief Scott Vermeer. Also playing for MVPD's team were several members of ProWorks executive management team. Alta Vista's softball team as well as other students represented the school and were supported by retired Alta Vista teacher Arturo Olmos, who has organized the event for ten years in a row.

ProWorks, a local area company that provides advanced electronic manufacturing services, sponsored the event by supplying a catered lunch for all participants after the game. The game was held at Alta Vista High School and attracted over 125 players and spectators from the school and the police department. The game started at 10:30am followed by a catered lunch. The students managed to hold a lead form the first inning and won the game one to zero.
