Submitted by Business Fights Poverty

Built to be the premier CSR outreach platform for Business Fights Poverty, the custom-built multimedia website includes videos, podcasts, the latest news and blog posts, press releases and event announcements from Business Fights Poverty's international network of members engaged in responsible business to reduce poverty.

Business Fights Poverty is an international network for professionals passionate about fighting world poverty through good business. The on-line network connects practitioners and experts around the world to form a global community of pioneers pushing the boundaries of how business can fight poverty. Business Fights Poverty is using the new EMP to showcase a major new series of events in London that will explore the role of business in international development in the context of an economic downturn, in partnership with the UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID)(www.dfid.gov.uk), the Overseas Development Institute (www.odi.org.uk) and Business Action for Africa (www.businessactionforafrica.org).

Alongside the events, an online discussion will be hosted at Business Fights Poverty (www.businessfightspoverty.org), where the aim is to share insights from cutting edge experience, facilitate comparisons and learning from contrasting efforts, and enable more effective private sector development. This 9 part meeting series will bring together company executives, practitioners, policy researchers, government and civil society to explore different approaches to private sector development, pushing the debate forward.

"Our members are empowered by the connections they make and ideas they generate here on Business Fights Poverty. This new venue on CSRwire's Enhanced Member platform allows us to seamlessly share key information and multimedia resources generated by our members-many of whom are CSR practitioners-with the broader CSR community. This will build towards our goal of fostering best practice sharing and collaboration during this crucial economic time." says Business Fights Poverty founder Zahid Torres-Rahman.

The EMPs on CSRwire are the first-stop for the CSR community to compare and contrast initiatives among specific organizations, categories, business sectors, and areas of NGO activities. They also provide the global CSR community with a greater understanding of organizations' approaches to environmental and societal issues, while raising awareness of their initiatives.

Through the most advanced technology and search engine optimization, content is frequently updated and always optimized, including live blog feeds, the latest activity from the many groups and discussion forums, and information on international events.

Visitors to the EMP will have the ability to add comments, forward content using 'send to friend', and social bookmarking tools, bringing Web 2.0 functionality to the profile, and deepening interaction among stakeholders and the organization.

"As the first destination for corporate social responsibility news and information on the web, CSRwire is continuing to move beyond the traditional newswire," says COO Greg Schneider. "As companies produced more multimedia CSR content, we realized that it was sometimes difficult to both showcase and organize the content in a way that was accessible to the CSR community. CSRwire's EMPs brings this content to the forefront of the CSR community."

"There are thousands of organizations engaged in CSR initiatives that are not widely known by the general public or individuals concerned about corporate behavior," says Schneider. "By optimizing the EMP for enhanced search results in CSRwire's custom search as well as web search engines like Google, CSRwire's member organizations are brought to the forefront. Categorization of all content on the EMP is linked to all other content distributed by CSRwire, resulting in even greater exposure."

"The integration of video, commentary, and research in a format that showcases a company's initiatives further develops increased transparency and disclosure, manages potential risks, increases shareholder value, and attracts talent and capital," says CSRwire President Joe Sibilia.
