HOUSTON, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, at the 17th Annual NAPE Expo luncheon hosted by Shell Exploration & Production Company, The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes (CSAH), in conjunction with NAPE and the Bay Area Builders Association (BABA) surprised Sgt. David Worswick and his family with the announcement that they will be the next recipients of a brand new home as part of the Homes for Heroes program. Sgt. Worswick was severely wounded while in Asadabad, Afghanistan, when his Humvee hit an IED. Sgt. Worswick suffered severe brain trauma and damaged ligaments in his neck and back. Since, he and his family have been struggling on their road to recovery.

"Worswick is a true American hero. He risked his life to save the men and women of his fellow unit and to maintain the freedoms that we so often take for granted," said Dan Wollrath, president of BABA's Support Our Troops program. "Today, we are showing our appreciation in a small way by giving the Worswick family a new home to ease their transition."

Ground will break on the Worswick home in late February. To further aid, NAPE Expo LP has covered all luncheon expenses, so that 100% of the proceeds from today's NAPE luncheon will benefit CSAH’s Home for Heroes program.

"We are extremely lucky to have such great friendships and partnerships with NAPE and BABA," said Cpl. Donny Daughenbaugh, fellow veteran and spokesperson for CSAH. "They are prime examples of how supportive organizations can make real positive differences for our wounded soldiers. Because of the NAPE expo, we have been able to provide the $500 gift checks to hundreds of wounded veterans and thanks to BAVA, we have been able to build and remodel five homes for wounded veterans in the Houston area alone."
