- March 10, 2009 - Twisted Limb Paperworks presents their updated line of eco-friendly birth announcements, baby shower invitations and thank you notes in their new catalog devoted to baby stationery. Circle shaped and miniature announcements, animal baby graphics, Hebrew fonts, and decorative flower stitching are just a few of the special options available to new parents through Twisted Limb Paperworks' new line of baby stationery. All styles are available either fully assembled or as you-assemble kits so that couples can decide whether they want to save time or money. Pre-designed discount packages, suitable for both boy and girl babies, include an announcement and thank you note or announcement, shower invitation and thank you note in either pale yellow or spring green with a baby shoes or ducklings theme.

"For couples who live their eco-friendly values every day, it is a natural expectation that they will raise their children according to these same green ideals. Other couples, reflecting on the cleaner, healthier world they want their children to grow up in, first think about adopting a greener lifestyle when they have children. For either type of couple, choosing sustainably created 100% recycled birth announcements is a simple and easy way to start making the earth-friendly choices that they want for their baby's life from day one," founding artist Sheryl Woodhouse-Keese says.

She offers these ideas for hosting a green baby shower:

  1. Stay away from party supply stores to avoid things like disposable specialty napkins, plates, signs, streamers, etc. Use your best dishes, cloth napkins, and flatware, and recruit friends ahead of time to stay after the party to help wash them.

  2. Host the shower at a central location that's closest to the largest number of guests and encourage guests to carpool to the shower.

  3. Register for sustainable items like cloth diapers. Suggest gifts from thrift stores and/or baby reuse stores.

  4. Let guests know what to expect with the language you choose for the shower invitation, "You are invited to an eco-friendly baby shower in honor of Allison so that her daughter can grow up on a beautiful and healthy planet."

"We finalize the design choices and layout several weeks before the baby is born, so that new parents do not have to fuss over the details once the baby is here. We just ask that the father or another family member send us a quick e-mail with information like the date and time of birth and the baby's weight, and we'll finish the invites in the next day or two," Twisted Limb designer Dana Teel says.
