Silicon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to invite you to a critical and timely event, Threads Silicon Valley, to learn about and discuss the major trends impacting the social sector over the next 20 years. Threads events are being held in 15 cities across the country as part of a broader effort led by Independent Sector, the nation’s leadership network for nonprofits, foundations and corporations committed to advancing the common good. This event has been organized by Independent Sector.
Recent research by Monitor Institute/Deloitte Consulting identified nine key trends which will affect the charitable sector in the next decade, focused on changing national and global-level forces, the new context for pursuing social impact and critical uncertainties about government. At this event, we will discuss these nine key trends, which we believe will shape the future of public-private partnerships. This conversation will be interactive, with attendees working to identify the best ways to address potential obstacles and amplify opportunities as we move forward, which Independent Sector will leverage in an upcoming report on the future of the sector.
This is sure to be a unique opportunity to expand your network across boundaries, discuss critical issues facing the nonprofit and CSR sectors in Silicon Valley, and lend your voice to a conversation aimed at improving the way corporations, nonprofit organizations and philanthropists partner together in this changing landscape.

9:00 a.m. to 12 noon June 8, 2015
