Verizon just published its 2007 corporate responsibility report, Doing the Work.

The report describes Verizon's ongoing accomplishments and challenges in the areas that define its approach to corporate responsibility.

In 2007, Verizon continued to enhance its disciplined approach to managing corporate responsibility. The company reorganized its Corporate Responsibility Council to better align with the core competencies of its business. The Council has been diligent in setting goals and assigning accountability for results, in the same manner as Verizon approaches all of its business imperatives.

You will see the company's focus on performance reflected in how it has enhanced the content of the report. The report incorporates a new section that lays out the company's objectives and performance in each of its six corporate responsibility priority areas. There are three sections that highlight how Verizon is making its technology accessible to a broader segment of customers, how broadband is driving innovation and economic growth and how the company is investing in world-class education resources through Thinkfinity.org. Finally, the report has separate sections that provide detailed metrics regarding performance in each of the priority areas.
