The international home credit business was demerged from Provident Financial plc and became a separately listed company on the London Stock Exchange on 16 July 2007. International Personal Finance aims to be a leading provider of simple financial products and services to people of modest means, and to do this through trustworthy and responsible behaviour.

The report describes the overall direction of corporate responsibility at the new company and aims to address the issues of interest to stakeholders. It includes a key issues section, an FAQ section and sets out clear commitments and goals. There is also a case studies section providing some insights into the company's approach to employee engagement, responsible lending, community investment and environmental management.

The report highlights 2007 accomplishments such as:

Setting up the new governance structure to deliver the company's corporate responsibility strategy
Defining group-wide commitments and individual business goals to address key issues and support the growth of the business
Responsible lending measures which include a responsible lending group, better customer insight programmes and new technology to support agent lending decisions
Development of talent management and leadership development programmes and a strong focus on employee engagement
Efforts to bring greater focus to financial literacy and develop it as a strategic theme in community investment activity
Environmental refresher training across operations, all audited against ISO14001. In 2007, of 52 environmental targets across the Group; 24 completed and 23 partially completed
