Calor has now completed the first year of its three-year Responsible Business Plan running from 2018-2020. This plan consists of 10 targets across three key areas – Our People, Our Business and Our Planet and is underpinned by the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. 2018 saw huge developments in their community engagement, approach to wellbeing and introduction of BioLPG, driven by an innovation movement throughout the organisation. There was also continued success in their fundraising efforts and training opportunities for employees.

The 2018 Review tracks the company’s progress against these targets and highlights the exciting achievements that took place across the year.

Calor’s 2018 Key Achievements:

  • 6% reduction in Calor’s carbon footprint
  • 2,689 tonnes of metal recycled
  • 8% increase in the percentage of recycled waste
  • 1,690 days of training for employees
  • 179 colleagues moved from temporary to permanent roles
  • £25,797 raised for Mind and the Scottish Association for Mental Health
  • 55% of employees participated in Calor’s employee volunteering scheme
  • New Wellbeing policy endorsed by our leaders
  • 34 colleagues took part in a flagship fundraising event - Tour de Calor
