In 2022, we set a world record with the University of Tennessee's “Good Sports Always Give Back” program by recycling 38,452 pounds of waste. In 2023, we challenged the University of Michigan, pitting Neyland Stadium against The Big House.

Tennessee fans competed to recycle the most game day waste in a single day, resulting in an impressive 44,950 pounds of waste recycled.

Our achievement included recycling plastic, aluminum, paper, cardboard, wooden pallets, composting and food donations. This collective effort is making a significant impact by keeping materials out of landfills and contributing to a greener, cleaner future.

Fans from both schools made history by diverting a combined 85,211 pounds of game day waste from landfills. Over 200,000 people came together to emphasize the power of unity and environmental responsibility. Join us in celebrating this incredible journey toward a more sustainable tomorrow.

About Eastman x UT “Good Sports Always Give Back”

“Good Sports Always Give Back” was founded by Eastman and UT in 1993. Since then, we have worked closely with the school to collect and recycle plastic waste from UT’s campus and Neyland Stadium. Using Eastman’s molecular recycling technology, the plastic will be renewed and diverted from landfills.

About Eastman in the circular economy: In 2019, Eastman became the first company to begin commercial-scale chemical recycling for a broad set of waste plastics that would otherwise be landfilled or, worse, wind up in the environment. Eastman's molecular recycling technologies can process waste plastics traditional mechanical recycling methods cannot—including polyesters, polypropylene, polyethylene, and polystyrene—derived from a variety of sources, including single-use plastics, textiles, and carpet. These technologies provide a true circular solution of endless recycling for materials, allowing them to be reused repeatedly.
