During the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival August 5 to 13, Quest Diagnostics offered participants COVID-19 testing on the popular Massachusetts island off the coast of Cape Cod. Chairman, CEO and President Steve Rusckowski stopped by to thank Quest employees for helping at this special event. “The success of this event highlights just how amazing the collaboration is within Quest Diagnostics,” said Scott Burlingame, senior continuous improvement manager, Quest Management System (QMS). “We incorporated teams from Commercial, National Point of Care Operations, QMS, Lab Operations, Logistics, Patient Services, Marketing, Billing, and IT to coordinate this testing donation in a short window. All Quest team members worked tirelessly over a 2-week period to ensure that Film Festival patrons who wanted COVID-19 testing would have a seamless experience.”

Steve and Deb O’Hara-Rusckowski both spoke at a Disparities in Healthcare event during the festival. They were joined by former Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services the Hon. Louis Sullivan, MD and media pioneer Cathy Hughes, Founder and Chairperson of Urban One, Inc. to discuss racially driven disparities in healthcare.

Fast facts: This was the 20th anniversary of the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival and Quest’s first time donating COVID-19 testing at this event.
