WASHINGTON, August 2, 2021 /CSRwire/ - The Vinyl Sustainability Council (VSC), a self-funded business council advancing sustainability in the vinyl industry, has issued a call for entries for its annual awards: Vinyl Recycling Award, Social Impact Award, and Design for Reuse Award. All three awards will be presented at the VSC’s Sustainability Summit on Nov. 10.
“Sustainability encompasses a wide range of issues: from waste reduction to resource conservation to diversity and inclusion,” said Jay Thomas, VSC Executive Director. “Within our own industry, we know of many important and inspiring initiatives being completed by members of the vinyl value chain. It is important to have a platform to recognize these products and programs, and we look forward to honoring several companies with these awards at our Summit this fall.”
Vinyl Recycling Award
The 2021 “Vinyl Recycling Award” recognizes the efforts of recyclers and product manufacturers with operations in North America that find new solutions and or markets for PVC end-of-life or scrap materials, increase use of recycled vinyl content in their products, and/or engage in partnerships with companies in take-back programs.
In 2020, the VSC presented two awards to Sika Sarnafil, for their work recycling the Rogers Centre vinyl roof, and The AZEK Company, for their line of recycled capped PVC deck boards.

The 2021 “Social Impact Award” recognizes the efforts of a VSC member that has demonstrated a strong commitment to their communities.
