September 13-19, 2020 is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, and International Paper is grateful for the generosity of three regional trucking companies that stepped up to #HelpFillTheBoxes through their transportation services – FirstFleet, Truck One, and FAB Express.

In response to the increased demand for food assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, International Paper committed in May to donate two million corrugated boxes to hunger-relief organizations around the world. Feeding America® and their network of food banks across the United States will receive approximately one million of the boxes.

Recognizing the need to get boxes from International Paper box plants to the Feeding America® network of food banks, three regional carriers offered their shipping services to ensure food banks from New York State to Texas receive the boxes they need to distribute nutritious food to families in their communities.

“The demand for ground transportation during the pandemic is higher than ever,” explained Amy Grow, community engagement manager, International Paper. “We appreciate the willingness of FirstFleet, Truck One and FAB Express to deliver these boxes to help feed America during this unprecedented time of need.”

“FAB Express would like to thank International Paper for including us in the charitable operation for Feeding America,” said Brian Bartuch, owner of FAB Express. “We all know the impacts of this pandemic and appreciate the opportunity to help aid in the relief effort.”
