The Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) today announced the winners of its 2019 Compass Awards program recognizing corporate social responsibility (CSR) excellence across three categories: Leadership, Innovation and Implementation.
The primary objective of the Compass Awards is to recognize efforts of RBA members, their factories and suppliers that lead to meaningful, positive change in line with the RBA's vision and mission. The award submissions will also serve as examples of successful actions that other companies can emulate.
Submissions were reviewed and scored by an independent panel of judges from intergovernmental organizations and civil society. The winners were announced during a ceremony at the RBA’s annual conference, Responsible Business 2019, in Santa Clara, California.
Leadership Winner: Dell – Accelerating the Circular Economy with Rare Earths Minerals
Innovation Winner: Volvo Car Group – Pioneering Complete Traceability for Cobalt Used in Electronic Vehicles
Implementation Winner: Microsoft – Climate Change Leadership Through Collaboration and Capacity Building
"Once again, the Compass Awards were very competitive this year," said Rob Lederer, Executive Director of the Responsible Business Alliance. "The winners were chosen from among many strong submissions based on their demonstrated efforts and results that exemplified the vision and mission of the RBA."
