Submitted by Arrow Electronics, Inc.

Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today announced that Senior Applications Engineer Noel Marshall was named a Women Worth Watching® in STEM by the Profiles in Diversity Journal®.

Marshall was recognized for her technical contributions as lead engineer on Arrow’s award-winning Semi-Autonomous Motorcar (SAM Car) project, which utilizes off-the-shelf technology to enable quadriplegic former racecar driver Sam Schmidt to operate a vehicle using only his breath and head motions. During Noel’s tenure on the Arrow SAM Car team, Schmidt successfully completed demo laps on the iconic Indy 500 oval, tackled the twists and turns of the Pike’s Peal International Hill Climb and was granted the nation’s first autonomous vehicle driver’s license.

“Noel’s innovative thinking and exceptional leadership skills have contributed greatly to the Arrow SAM Car’s notable technical success,” said Arrow Chief Strategy Officer Cathy Morris. “Noel is definitely a STEM professional worth watching, and everyone at Arrow is incredibly proud of her accomplishments.”

The STEM edition is new to the Profiles in Diversity Journal’s annual Women Worth Watching leadership awards. Noel and the 44 other winners of this year’s Women Worth Watching in STEM awards will be profiled in a special edition of the publication this spring.
