Evok Innovations (“Evok”), today announced the five finalists for the Cleantech Pitch Session at the GLOBE 2016 Innovation Expo—the exposition portion of North America’s largest and most influential sustainable-business leadership summit.

The five finalists will each present their technologies to a panel of experts on stage on Thursday, March 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The Cleantech Pitch session is open to expo visitors and accredited media.

Evok invited entrepreneurs and inventors to submit their early-stage clean technologies for the pitch session. Submissions were evaluated based on the applicability and value of the technology to the oil and gas industry and the structure of the pitch slide deck. 

The five finalists are: 

1. Adrian Banica, Illusense Inc: Enhancing Pipeline Integrity in the Oil and Gas Industry (Vancouver, BC)

2. Emily Hicks, FREDsense Technologies: Building Better Biosensors (Calgary, AB)

3. Joseph Wells, Proceed Solutions: Cumulative Impact Assessment Solution (Calgary, AB)

4. Vladimir Mravak, Atlantis Research Labs: Greenhouse Gas Jet (Regina, SK)

5. Parminder Singh, ME Resource Corp, MEC's Mobile Refinery Unity

Finalists have the opportunity to pitch their business plan to a panel of expert judges and industry leaders, including: 

• Marty Reed, CEO, Evok Innovations

• Benjamin Sparrow, CEO, Saltworks

• Mark Trevitt, Associate Director, BDC Venture Capital

• "‹Andrée-Lise Méthot, Founder & Managing Partner, Cycle Capital Management

The winner of the Cleantech Pitch Session will be announced at GLOBE 2016 following the session. The winner will receive a one-on-one meeting with a technology development expert from a leading Canadian energy company, and the honour of being the winner of the inaugural Cleantech Pitch Session award.

Evok is a new $100 million cleantech fund which is a unique partnership between the BC Cleantech CEO Alliance, Cenovus Energy and Suncor Energy.
