New eBook Profiles 2015 Change Makers

Published 12-04-15

Submitted by Oliver Russell

Oliver Russell has released a new eBook profiling 25 influential and inspirational “Change Makers.” Spanning two years of interviews, the book covers men and women from around the world and across a variety of backgrounds.

“We’ve met some pretty amazing people over the 25 years we’ve been in business,” said Russ Stoddard, founder and president of Oliver Russell. “The common trait they share is that they place the wellbeing of others above their own. We decided it was time to tell their stories.”

Some of the profiles may be familiar, such as Dan Price, the Seattle CEO who made national news when he slashed his million-dollar salary so he could raise his employees’ minimum wage to $70,000

Others are less visible, but no less influential.

If you’re familiar with the buy-one-give-one (BOGO) concept made famous by TOMS shoes and Warby Parker, you’ll enjoy meeting Masami Sato, founder of B1G1, and the woman who started it all.

In between Dan and Masami, you’ll hear the story of a man whose Washington, D.C., community kitchen has graduated over 1,000 future chefs. You’ll meet a real-life Columbo who’s an expert in forensic DNA, as well as a songwriter and playwright in his spare time. And you’ll find out how a woman who just needed “a damn pair of pants that fit” went on to start a company that makes workwear specially designed for women—and ended up a guest at the White House.

“Some of these people are clients, some have partnered with us, some we simply call friends,” Stoddard said. “All of them are humble and impress us.”
