The MGM Resorts Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Conference will provide attendees with a range of educational and networking opportunities designed to help them advance in their careers.

The conference will be held Aug. 6 & 7 at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. For the second year in a row, custom-designed learning tracks will give attendees tools that fit their individual professional needs. Tracks available will include:

  • Emerging Leader: Designed for entry- to mid-level supervisors, managers or administrators, this track is for women who already lead team initiatives or projects in their departments but are eager to take on even more responsibility. They have a strong desire to learn and grow in their careers and actively pursue opportunities to do just that. The Women’s Leadership Conference will inspire the Emerging Leader while providing networking opportunities and training for new skills that will help them reach the next step in their careers. The track will focus on a variety of topics including: strategies for leveraging social media, how to spearhead successful projects, and tips on mapping a career path.
  • Emerging Executive: Designed for directors and executive directors who supervise a group of employees or a team. They are experts in their field and oversee major department programs. The conference provides Emerging Executives the chance to network with peer and senior level professionals while sharing best practices. They can also gain new skills, such as the Art of Persuasion, or how to articulate points-of-view and persuade others, including higher-level leadership. The Emerging Executive Track helps women discover strategies and specific tools to elevate their careers to the C-Suite. Topics will include: deciphering communication styles, how to avoid career self-sabotage, and tactics for improving personal connectivity.
  • Executive: Designed for vice presidents and above who lead teams that oversee major initiatives within their organizations. They possess high levels of influence company-wide and frequently determine policies and procedures. They must be able to understand complex business and financial matters, as well as dynamics beyond the Profit & Loss statement. The Women’s Leadership Conference reinforces those skills and abilities while providing access to an executive-level network. Topics will cover identifying S.W.O.T.s (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) and smart goals to achieve personal career objectives, as well as the power of scheduling “thinking time.” Additionally, attendees will learn more about the art of persuasion and how they can avoid mistakes commonly made in leadership.

The eighth annual Women’s Leadership Conference is open to women of all professions and social backgrounds, locally and nationally, and men who support women. In addition to the workshops, the conference will feature dynamic keynote speakers, entertainment, and networking opportunities. Conference registration is available at $350 per person.

The non-profit MGM Resorts Foundation is the conference’s presenting sponsor and will partner with the nationally renowned Women’s Food Service Forum (WFF), the industry’s premiere women’s leadership development organization. Proceeds of the conference after costs will be donated to one or more local nonprofit agencies devoted to the welfare and development of women and girls.
