As part of its eighth-annual conference in Atlanta this week, the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council launched a new name and brand – transitioning to become the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum. The rebranding reflects major changes in the peer-to-peer fundraising industry, which has experienced an explosion of creativity and energy since Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council’s founding in 2007.

“Whether a nonprofit is sponsoring a fun run or a head shaving event, the common thread linking our community is peer-to-peer fundraising, the power of people asking friends, family, neighbors and colleagues to dig into their pockets to support great causes,” said David Hessekiel, president and founder of the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum.

“Moving forward we will continue to provide peer-to-peer fundraising professionals with the actionable insights and valuable connections they need to succeed. That won’t change with the new name. It will only get better,” Hessekiel said.

The organization’s shift is mirrored in its annual study of the 30 largest peer-to-peer fundraising programs in the United States, also unveiled at the conference. This year’s Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Thirty (formerly the Run Walk Ride Thirty) includes initiatives that recruit people to raise money by asking others to sponsor them in jumping rope, shooting hoops, shaving their heads, bowling, growing mustaches, spinning and dancing as well as by walking, running and riding.

Along with a new name, the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum unveiled a new logo, refreshed branding, and updated social media channels along with a video highlighting the diverse range of events and efforts that tap into the power of peer-to-peer fundraising.
