The Association of Diversity Councils has named Bellagio Resort & Casino’s diversity and community council, the Cultural Board, to its Top 25 Employee Resource Groups and Diversity Councils list. This is the second consecutive year the resort’s council has received the award, which recognizes outstanding contributions and achievements of employee resource groups (ERGs) and diversity councils nationwide. Bellagio is the only resort in the hospitality industry to earn this year’s award, joining companies such as American Airlines, General Motors, and FedEx in receiving the honor.

Council applications were evaluated on contributions and achievements in four categories: Demonstrated Council Results; Demonstrated Management Commitment; Measurement and Accountability; and Communication and Education.

Founded in 2006, the Bellagio Cultural Board serves the resort’s more than 8,000 employees by promoting a culture of inclusion and fostering employee engagement through professional development training, town hall forums, employee campaigns and community giving and volunteerism. For example, the Bellagio Cultural Board supported an employee canned food drive and volunteer challenge that culminated in the property donating 111,000 pounds of canned food and 22,806 volunteer hours to the community last year.

Bellagio’s Cultural Board is part of a larger network of diversity and community councils represented at every MGM Resorts International property.
