Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine, in collaboration with NYSE Euronext, the CROA and the Global Reporting Initiative have teamed up to announce that the annual COMMIT!Forum will be held October 8-9, 2013 at New York Marriot Downtown in New York City. The COMMIT!Forum brings together more than 700 chief executives, corporate responsibility and sustainability officers, policy makers, thought leaders, and academics working to redefine corporate America through governance, sustainability, capital growth, and social impact.

“This year’s program seeks to confront many of the challenges faced by executives today, to stir meaningful debate and reveal tangible solutions to better our global community of leaders in both the public and private sectors,” said Elliot Clark, Forum Chairman and CEO of SharedXpertise. “Each year the COMMIT!Forum brings together the top thought leaders in business and sustainability to inspire attendees to turn ideas into action and make meaningful global change.”

The Forum will feature a series of sessions that explore areas of conflict and common ground on the topics of energy, innovation, capitalism, and sustainable prosperity across the public and private sectors in the United States and abroad. Keynote addresses will be made by Eliot Spitzer, the former Governor of New York and Sheriff of Wall Street, and Herman Mulder, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Global Reporting Initiative.

CEOs from across the country will also participate in an exclusive corporate responsibility CEO roundtable to discuss their experiences in pioneering leadership for environmental stewardship, employee engagement, and visionary governance.

Several other panels will cover a broad range of topics including:

  • How to Build Your Next Generation of Leadership
  • Employee Engagement 2.0: Taking Volunteerism to Another Level
  • How Businesses Are Restoring Trust and Being Rewarded
  • Assuring Sustainability: Building Trust & Better Data Through Third-Party Verification
  • Creating a Culture of Sustainability in the Aerospace & Defense Industry
  • Responsible Brand Management in the Era of Social Networking
  • Social Responsibility in the Alcoholic Beverage Industry

During COMMIT!Forum’s half day pre-conference workshop hosted by BrownFlynn, attendees will learn the ways their company can utilize two important, but differing approaches to materiality—the Global Reporting Initiative’s G4 Framework and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board Materiality Maps.

Finally, the 2013 COMMIT!Forum will conclude with the ringing of the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange, alongside the finalists and winners of Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 2013 CEO of the Year Award.

Confirmed sponsors and partners of the Forum include: AIAG, ASQ, BBB, BrownFlynn, Business Council on Climate Change, Corporate Secretary, Centre for Sustainability and Excellence, CSRwire, Entrepreneurs Foundation, Fortune, Governance & Accountability Institute, Green Living Project, Institute for Supply Management, MGM Resorts, Mosaic, Sustainability Summit and Exposition and State Street.
